Since its launch in 2021, Bilt Rewards has become a standout loyalty program by rewarding members for simply paying rent. Over the years, Bilt has evolved significantly, with the introduction of three new Bilt 2.0 cards in early 2026 being the latest major update. However, Bilt offers far more than just housing rewards and credit cards. Members can earn valuable Bilt Points through various methods, even without paying housing expenses or holding a Bilt card.
These points are redeemable for travel through partner airlines, rent or down payments on homes, shopping on Amazon, and more. According to valuations from February 2026, Bilt Points are currently the most valuable loyalty currency, at 2.2 cents apiece. Yet, strategic utilization can yield even greater returns.
What is Bilt Rewards?
Bilt Rewards is a free-to-join loyalty program that allows members to accumulate points redeemable for travel, housing-related expenses, gift cards, ridesharing, Amazon purchases, and more. Points can be earned by linking qualifying credit cards and transacting with Bilt partners.
The program is particularly notable for allowing points accrual on rent and mortgage payments, as well as through spending on three cobranded credit cards:
- Bilt Blue Card: Entry-level, $0 annual fee.
- Bilt Obsidian Card: Mid-tier, $95 annual fee.
- Bilt Palladium Card: Premium, $495 annual fee.
Crucially, participation does not require renting, owning property, or holding a Bilt card. Members can earn points simply by linking cards and spending with Bilt partners, including restaurants, ride-hailing services, pharmacies, and fitness studios.
How to Earn Bilt Rewards Points
There are several avenues for accumulating Bilt Points. Here’s a breakdown of the key methods:
Earning with Bilt Cards
Each Bilt card offers a unique earning structure. All cards earn points on housing payments, and offer the option to earn Bilt Cash (a separate rewards currency) on non-housing purchases.
- Bilt Blue: 1 point per dollar on everyday spending.
- Bilt Obsidian: 3 points per dollar on grocery or dining (annual cap of $25,000), 2 points on travel, and 1 point on other purchases.
- Bilt Palladium: 2 points per dollar on everyday spending.
Earning on Rent and Mortgage Payments
Bilt Blue, Obsidian, and Palladium cardholders can pay rent or mortgages through Bilt without transaction fees. Points accrual depends on how much non-housing spending is made with the card. Members can choose between two housing rewards structures:
- Flexible Bilt Cash: Earn Bilt Cash (4% back) on all purchases, and redeem it for points on housing payments (30 Bilt Cash = 1 point per $1,000 in housing spend).
- Housing-Only: Earn points directly on housing payments based on non-housing spending: 0.5 points per dollar (25% spending), 0.75 points per dollar (50% spending), 1 point per dollar (75% spending), 1.25 points per dollar (100% or more spending).
Non-Bilt cards can also be used to pay rent, earning 1 point per dollar on Visa, Discover, and Mastercard, or 1 point per $2 on American Express (with a 3% transaction fee).
Other Earning Methods
- Bilt Dining: Earn up to 3 additional points per dollar at participating restaurants when paying with a linked card.
- Bilt Travel Portal: Earn 1 point per dollar on flights and 2 points per dollar on hotels, stacking with Bilt card earnings.
- Lyft: Earn 2 points per dollar on Lyft rides.
- Walgreens: Earn 2 points per dollar on Walgreens-branded products, 1 point on other purchases, and 100 points per prescription refill (up to 26 refills per year).
- Fitness Studios: Earn up to 3 points per dollar on bookings through Bilt at select studios.
- Referrals: A referral program is coming soon.
- Rent Free Game Show: Earn points on the first of each month by playing “Rent Free,” a game show that also awards free rent to top players.
Bilt Rewards Elite Status
Bilt offers four status tiers (Blue, Silver, Gold, Platinum) based on total points earned annually. Status can be earned through points accrual or spending within the Bilt ecosystem.
Bilt Platinum members can receive a 12-month Flying Blue Gold status match by transferring 10,000 Bilt Points to the Flying Blue program.
Maximizing Point Value: Transfer Partners
The most valuable way to use Bilt Points is by transferring them to airline and hotel partners. This method can yield 2.2 cents per point or more, enabling premium travel experiences. Bilt partners with major loyalty programs, including Air Canada Aeroplan and Air France-KLM Flying Blue.
Bilt Rewards provides a flexible and lucrative way to earn points on everyday spending, housing payments, and travel. By strategically utilizing the available methods and transfer partners, members can maximize their rewards and unlock substantial value.
