The Offer

Hyatt just rolled out another round of targeted bonus points.

Usually, these things are narrow. Linked to Las Vegas. Or Under Canvas. Or specific resort chains. Boring, limited stuff.

But this time is different.

Some of the new promotions work on both paid stays and award nights across the whole portfolio. That matters.

I got an email on Saturday. “Surprise Kathryn,” it said. I’m eligible for up to 30,000 bonus points. You can find yours under “My Offers” in the account menu, then “Available.” Click details if you need to see the fine print.

Here is my specific deal:
– Earn 10,000 points for every 10 qualifying nights.
– Cap out at 30 nights total.
– Max reward? That 30k mentioned above.
– You get 90 days to finish the stays after you register.
– Register by August 19 to lock it in.

Both cash rates and free-night certificates count. Using Hyatt points to redeem a stay counts too.

The Catch

The 90-day clock starts when you click “Register.”

Right now? It is late May. Early June.

If you book in mid-June, your window slams shut by September. Are you going to pack in 30 hotel stays between now and then? Unlikely.

Maybe you are. Power users travel. A lot. But for most people, July is busy. August is vacation month.

Why start the timer early if you have nothing to spend it on?

Wait.

Register in mid-July instead. Let that 90-day window run through early October. That captures your summer trips and maybe some fall work travel.

Does it matter if you missed the August 19 deadline? Yes. The registration closes. The window is strict.

But starting sooner doesn’t give you more nights. It just burns your calendar.

Who Got This?

Don’t assume everyone sees this.

Hyatt is being surgical here. Highly targeted.

I checked with several colleagues at TPG. They got nothing. Blank pages where my offer lives.

This feels random. Or based on some dark algorithm of past travel habits. We aren’t sure.

If you saw the offer, tell us in the comments. Is it spreading? Or are we the lucky few?

There is no clean answer to why some accounts get gold and others get silence.

Just don’t rush into registration before you map your actual plans. The points will be there later. The 90 days won’t.
